Most banners created are of standard measurements: from 20 to 40 feet in height, 40 to 120 feet in length and can also be created in odd sizes as well such as 23’ x 54’, 25’ x 80’, 30’ x 100’.

The FAA has laid down some rules and guidelines for aerial banners that are flown around certain locations such as stadiums. The rules require that the plane fly 1000 feet over the ground and at a safe horizontal distance. There are also rules set by the FAA that regulate banners flown at over water.  When banners are flown over beaches, the planes must fly at about 500 feet above the water and at 750 feet from the shore. Some companies choose to have their banners flown over both beaches and stadiums and design their banner to accommodate all rules, regulations, and guidelines for both locations and design banners accordingly, to save money.
