1. Look the shape. The size and the shape of real pearls are not just the same, while the fake ones are mellow and full as they are made form the same mould. This point is the most obvious when you identify the pearls.

2. Look the appearance. The true one usually with some flaws, some are with spot and some are with banding. Though these flaws would influence the quality and beauty, the flaw on each one is not the same which shows its different character form other pearls.

3. Look the luster. The lust of the real one is usually very nature, glittering and translucent. While the fake one’s luster in only on the surface.

4. Touch it by hands. The real pearl is smooth when we put our hands on it, and it feels very cool when we are wearing it. But the fake one do not has this feature.

5. Use the fire. Fire the pearl by lighter, generally its surface would become black. If the pearl is still well as we use paper to clean that black ash, then we could affirm it is the true one.
