3 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Skip Your Oil Change

The purpose of this article is to discuss why you shouldn’t skip your oil change. Specifically, 3 reasons will be elaborated on.

Are you sick and tired of going to the auto shop for motor oil replacement? Have you ever been tempted not to do so? Trust me; you aren’t the first person to ever consider skipping out on your routine car maintenance. The important thing is that you don’t skip out on it, as doing so can be detrimental to the health and functioning of your vehicle. If this doesn’t convince you, then perhaps knowing what will happen if you don’t have your motor oil replaced will. It is the intention of this article to provide 3 reasons why you shouldn’t skip your oil change in an effort to aid drivers in deterring neglectful behavior.
The first and perhaps most obvious reason why you shouldn’t skip your oil change is due to the fact that it is necessary for optimal engine performance. Although it may seem complicated, it really isn’t. Clean motor oil contributes to the proper functioning of the engine. Furthermore, the same is true of the reverse. As a result, if the motor is polluted, it can and will negatively impact the engine and consequently cause your engine to fail over time. Another reason why you shouldn’t skip your oil change is due to the fact that polluted oil can cause corrosion of your vehicle. Like most drivers, you may not be aware that the motor oil in your vehicle becomes polluted from water, dust and combustion byproducts as a result of use; which is precisely its function. However, if the oil is not replaced on a regular basis, in a frequency recommended by your vehicle owner’s manual, it can become over saturated with pollution and subsequently not be able to absorb any more. When this happens, the over saturated oil can then cause corrosion of additional parts of the vehicle. The third reason why you shouldn’t skip your oil change is due to the fact that it is critical for longer gas mileage. Clean motor oil also affords you the opportunity to maximize your gas mileage. In doing so, by maintaining regular motor oil replacement, your car engine will be able to function more efficiently, because pollutants in the engine will not be prohibiting it from properly functioning as a result of absorbing additional pollutant. The functioning engine then can burn fuel at a steadier rate, thereby saving you on gas.
Whether you are diligent about getting your motor oil replaced on a regular basis or not, every now and then we all need reminders to help reinforce what we already know is the right thing to do. This is particularly true for those drivers who have or are contemplating skipping their next scheduled motor oil replacement. As a result, you shouldn’t skip your oil change due to the facts that it is necessary for optimal engine performancePsychology Articles, deterring corrosion as well as optimizing longer gas mileage.
