Are You Worried About Your Teen’s Insurance Claim?

As a parent of teens, myself, I cannot think of many things that were scarier for me than turning a teen into a driver. With a lot of experience, it is hard to stop worrying about all of the things that can happen to your child and your car when an inexperienced driver starts to take to the road for the first few times. I have to say that this was one of the toughest things about being a parent to How much is car insurance for a 16 year old.

Drivers Education Classes - If you can find an approved driver's education class for a new driver, it is probably worth the time and trouble. For one thing, it should be developed to turn your child into a better driver. It should also cover some issues like drug and alcohol awareness. And finally, many top car insurance companies offer a discount for drivers who take this class.
Family Discounts - Your teen driver is probably not on their own. While they may take some financial responsibility for premiums, the bill for everybody will be lower if it is bundled with other family coverage. You can take advantage of discounts for multiple vehicles, auto and home policies, etc. that way.

Old Car With Liability Only - I am always a little bit concerned about this suggestion. It is to get the young driver an older and cheaper car that is paid off. That way, you will only need the state required liability insurance. The issue with this tactic is that you have to pay to replace or repair the vehicle if it is damaged in a wreck. I have heard good arguments on both sides of this issue, but it is worth a thought.

Good Grades - Some insurers, but not allFree Articles, offer a discount for students with a B average on their report card. They believe that kids with better grades tend to be more responsible about other things too.
