All auto-owners need car repair work done, from time to time. Like other difficulties in life, sometimes it’s helpful to have someone say,”I know it’s hard.” If you’re having a hard time with your vehicle’s need for fixing, this article provides the support and encouragement you may need.

Nothing interrupts the flow of life as severely as needing your car repaired. You may question that,Frustrations of Needing Car Repair Articles when you consider funerals, life-threatening hospital visits, hurricanes, earthquakes, and wars. Even though such issues are more serious, they’re also a little less frequent. In addition, those more serious interruptions do have some benefits that auto issues don’t: namely sympathy from others and adrenaline. Because of the lack of perks associated with seemingly more severe interruptions, auto issues may end up being even more frustrating than any other stress.

Sympathy
When you tell people that you need car repair work done, you aren’t likely to get a sympathy card in the mail. No flowers, either. In fact, you’re lucky to get a flippant “I’m so sorry.” Why is this, you wonder? Perhaps it’s the simple fact that having a person’s automobile serviced is such a common issue. If people went around sending sympathy cards to everyone they knew who was having car trouble, there would be none left for funerals and the like. Or maybe the issue has to do with the fact that no one else receives so much as a knowing nod when they share their auto woes, so they’ve become calloused to others’ frustrations.

Regardless of the lack of sympathy you receive, having to get your mode of transportation worked on is difficult: For one thing, you have to do without your car for a while, forcing you to carpool, take the bus, walk, or ask someone for a ride. That can be time-consuming, frustrating, and humbling, depending on your station in life. If you have the means to rent a vehicle while your car is in the shop, that added cost intensifies one difficulty already inherent in car repairs: They cost money. And usually when you take your vehicle in, you are uncertain as to how much money the issue will end up costing you. A little sympathy would certainly be nice.

Adrenaline
While an E.R. visit or an approaching hurricane may put your body into “emergency mode,” prompting adrenaline and various hormones to propel your body and mind into overdrive, needing your car repaired does no such thing. Instead of being energizing, it’s stifling to your get up and go. Doing without a vehicle for an extended period of time could even lead to cabin fever or depression.

If you’re outside the reach of public transportation, you may also be unable to use retail therapy to buy yourself out of your blue mood. (Besides, you’re already more financially challenged than you were before you brought your vehicle in to be serviced, right?) So even though major disasters might seem more severe than having to have a machine that you own tweaked a bit, at least with them, your body helps you cope. With car repairs, you’re on your own.

Without a support system or your body chemistry to give you the added support, car repair may be among the greatest difficulties that you face. Finding a repair shop where they sell bottles of adrenaline may be impossible, but locating one where the mechanics are trained in empathy can be done.
