Strengths and features:

• The P48-C has cutters that are durable enough to shred up to 8 sheets of paper at once, even if the pages are stapled together. This will help you save a bit of time which will be helpful when you're busy. Also, this device can start shredding automatically as soon as you place paper in the 9-inch feed opening.
• This device's waste bin can hold almost 5 gallons of shreds so you can shred quite a bit before you need to empty it.
• This machine is a cross-cut shredder and it's been given a Level 3 security rating. The device can turn a sheet of paper into numerous shreds that measure 5/32" x 2" so you can keep private information safe. This is a great shredder to use to get rid of credit card offers, old bank statements, and so on.
• The P48-C can run continuously for up to 5 minutes before it needs to cool down. The machine is capable of shredding up to 14 feet of paper per minute which is pretty good for a small shredder.
• Although this shredder lacks Fellowes' popular and innovative SafeSense technology, it does have a safety interlock switch. Be sure to use it if there are kids or pets in your home or workplace.
• One of the P48-C's best features is its small size. Its approximate dimensions are 14" (height) x 14" (width) x 10" (depth) so it can fit under a desk or table.
• Finally, this shredder's cutters are covered by a 3-year warranty.

Weaknesses and limitations:

• With an 8-sheet shredding capacity, it's pretty obvious that the P48-C isn't meant for heavy-duty use. Luckily, there are plenty of other shredders that can shred a lot of paper at once.
• After you've used the machine continuously for 5 minutes, you need to let it cool off for 15 minutes. This is pretty typical for a small shredder but it might be annoying if you need to shred a bunch of documents quickly.
• The P-48C can't shred credit cards or multimedia items such as CD's/DVD's and floppy disks.

The Fellowes P48-C is a pretty good cross-cut shredder and it's ideal for personal use at home or in a small office. For a smaller device, it offers a good shredding capacity and it's nice that it can handle stapled documents. The shredder offers enough security to keep your private information under wraps so you can protect yourself from identity theft.
