Binding your documents is one of the best
ways to make them look as good as possible. Looks matter, especially if
you're trying to make a good impression. Luckily, binding doesn't need
to be difficult. In fact, it can be quite easy. Here are five incredibly
easy ways to bind your documents:
Stapling.
If your document is fairly short, stapling it is the easiest and
fastest way to bind it. Stapling doesn't really require any special
equipment and it's inexpensive, so it's good for a variety of documents.
However, it's important to keep in mind that staples won't convey a
super professional image. This can be problematic depending on the
circumstances.
Report covers.
You may have used report covers in high school or college, but they can
also be helpful in the working world. Report covers are great for
professional documents and they're really quite affordable, so they're a
good choice if you're on a budget. Best of all, these supplies are easy
to use and you don't need a special machine to get great results. You
can keep a bunch of them in your desk drawer or supply cabinet so
there's always some available when you need them.
Plastic comb binding.
Plastic combs have been used to bind documents for decades. They're
perfect for short and long documents, and you can use them to bind up to
425 pages. This binding method is also pretty affordable. The combs
themselves often only cost pennies and you can get a decent comb binding
machine for under $100.00. Also, plastic combs are really easy to use
so you can produce professional-looking work even if you've never used
these supplies before.
Thermal binding.
If you have some wiggle room in your budget, a thermal binding machine
is an excellent investment. You can use one of these machines to produce
hardcover and paperback documents that look like they were professional
bound. Also, thermal binding is one of the easiest document finishing
methods available. These machines can even bind more than one document
at a time (depending on how thick they are) so you can finish your work
in a hurry.
GBC ZipBind spines.
Do you already have a plastic comb binding machine or are you thinking
of getting one? If so, you can use GBC ZipBind spines in addition to
traditional plastic combs. ZipBind spines need to same 19-hole pattern
as plastic combs and they can be used to bind documents that are up to
110 pages long. Also, these spines can be re-opened after your work has
been bound. This makes it possible for you to edit your work as
necessary.
There are many
different binding methods available but the five methods listed here are
some of the easiest. Binding your work will help you make a good
impression on whoever is reading it, be it your boss, your colleagues,
or even your clients. Just use one of these methods and you'll find that
it's easy to produce great-looking work. Good luck!
