First of all, anyone who is looking for the item with the best profit is on the right track. You may think that is obvious, but many sellers spin their wheels listing items that do not make a profit. Sure, they make some money, but they are not making a profit on their auctions. What you need to do is find items that make money after all the eBay fees, product costs, and shipping costs are paid.

How can you be sure you have found the best item to sell for profit on eBay?

Plain & simple:  Research

You must research the items you want to sell on eBay.  When I go yard sale shopping,How to Find the Best Item to Sell for Profit on eBay Articles I can't tell if an item will make a profit.  That's why I have someone at home, available for some quick eBay research.  I can call my partner in front of the computer to do a little research on anything I see at a yard sale.  Let me share my three favorite ways to do research on eBay.

1.  Completed Listings - You can research items that sold in the past two weeks by doing a completed listings search.  You must have an eBay user id to use this tool on eBay.  Once you get your completed listings, you are able to reseach the ending bid, starting/ending day & time, title words, description, types of pictures, shipping prices and much more.  All of this information can be used to determine which items will make a profit on eBay.

2.  Favorite Searches - By clicking "Save this Search", you will have access to future items listed.  If you have an item that was not listed on eBay in the last two weeks, save that search so you can do future research.  Whenever someone lists an item with the keywords you used for your Favorite Search, you will receive an email with a link to that listing.  You can watch that auction to determine if it makes enough profit for you to sell it on eBay.

3.  Want It Now - Browse the Want It Now section of eBay to see what buyers are looking for.   This is a great way to determine demand for an item without ever listing it.  If enough people are looking for an item you own or an item you have wholesale access to, you should list it on eBay.

Research is the key to finding items that sell for a profit on eBay or other online auction sites.  When you do your due diligence and research products to sell, you will be use your time and money more wisely.
