bought a new laminator this year, you're probably wondering how your
supposed to maintain it. After all, you probably spent a fair amount of
money on it and you undoubtedly want to get as much use as possible out
of it. This is because adhesive will build up on the
rollers with just about every use. Luckily, cleaning your laminator is
actually very easy. Here are a few instructions on how to do it:

money on it and you undoubtedly want to get as much use as possible out
of it. Well, the good news is that school laminators don't require much
maintenance. However, you will need to clean the machine's rollers on a
pretty regular basis. This is because adhesive will build up on the
rollers with just about every use. Luckily, cleaning your laminator is
actually very easy. Here are a few instructions on how to do it:
First of all, when you clean your laminator's
rollers, resist the temptation to use sharp objects. They'll severely
damage the rollers and you'd then need to replace them. (If the damage
is bad enough, you may even need to get a whole new device.) So keep
scissors, knives, and the like far away from your laminator.
When
you're ready to begin, start off by removing the rolls of film. It can
be difficult to do this so you may want to want until you run out of
film so you can clean the device and reload it at the same time. When
the film has been removed, let the machine warm up before you proceed
to the next step. This should only take a few minutes or so.
Once
the laminator is warmed up, you can begin scraping the excess adhesive
off the rollers. (Make sure they're rolling as you do this. They should
be moving at a very slow speed.) You need to use something soft when
doing this so you don't damage anything. Also, be careful as you scrub
so you don't end up burning yourself. Most of all, try to be patient as
well because it may take you a bit of time to scrub all the adhesive
off.
When you're done, all you need to do
is load your new film into the machine and then turn the device off if
you no longer need to use it. It's as simple as that.
There are some other things you can do to keep your laminator in
great shape. For one thing, never laminate materials that are
three-dimensional, covered in glitter or otherwise textured, or
metallic. Items such of these can severely damage your device much just
sharp, pointed objects can. The damage can prevent heat from
transferring properly, leaving you with documents that are poorly
laminated. This can also happen if you go too long without cleaning the
rollers due to adhesive build-up, so make sure you do this on a regular
basis so the device will stay in peak condition.
School laminators are great office machines and offer you a way
of protecting important items. By regularly maintaining your device, it
will consistently give you great results and you'll be able to get a
