The ac servo drives are electronic amplifiers that send the output as per the input given the sensor which is attached to the motor send a signal back to the ac servo drives.

The ac servo drives are a special kind of electronic amplifiers. The work of the ac servo drives is to amplify the single received from the input in a particular way as suggested in the input signal. The motion the ac servo drives produces and the signals it transmits are all according to the command it receives.  The command can be anything but in particular for instance if we see, it can be a change in the velocity. The input command may want a particular type of frequency and the ac servo drives in the output will give the same velocity. This then analyses the difference and the deviation from the actual reading and the sensor reading. Then after the analysis the information is sent back to the motor via the ac servo drives. In short if we see all the work that is done by the motor is actually a feedback of the ac servo drives. The ac servo drives sends in the information to the motor and it functions accordingly. The commands that are being sent do not go to the motor directly. These are being sent via ac servo drives. The tuning or the setting up of parameters that we do is an actual verification of the parameters of the ac servo drives and not the motor which we think it is.

Initially there were particular ac servo drives for particular motors. But today with the widespread use of the ac servo drives in the motors, most of the ac servo drives that are in the market are mostly compatible to most of the motors available. This has made the job easier because most of the ac servo drives are compatible to the motors. The parameters that are being set can also be changed and rectified. The feedback from the sensor can help us in detecting various things about the ac servo drives. The motions which are unwanted and the velocity which is increasing can all be set right.
