1. Use Facebook. Facebook is great because it allows the friends of your clients to see your work. There is an implicit trust that exists when your image is seen through your client's friends because your client used you and posted your work on their page.
2. Partner with other non-photography businesses in your community. Marketing experts say it takes between 4-5 exposures to a product before a person contacts the business to purchase the product. When your work is all over the community, your clients will be more likely to see your work a number of times. 3. Use charity events to market your photography. By giving away a free session at a charity event, you are showing your work to a number of clients with large amounts of disposable income. In addition, you are building a reputation of giving which will create a positive impression in your community.
4. Be creative in your marketing. For example, by offering holiday specials in the summer you can encourage people to overcome the mad rush for cards in October, November and December. Encouraging this behavior helps your clients have a more restful holiday season and it allows the Laguna Niguel photographer the opportunity of doing more work during his traditionally slow season and his less during the busy season.
