Orange County Photographer Suggests 2 Effective Photography Marketing Specials
Photographers in Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach work in a competitive environment. This article suggests two ways in which these Orange County Photographers can compete effectively.
Theres are a number of factors which go into what and when a photography special is to given. A photography business owner needs to consider his production capacity, the likely demand level he will have, the increased demand that the special will create and when the work will become available. The following are two items a small photography business should consider and note when planning his specials for the year.
1. Summer holiday card specials. Unless your business is in an area that has an unusually high amount of summer vacationers, it is likely that October, November and December are far more busy of months than July, August and September. Send out a mail to your regulars and post a notice on your blog, website and Facebook that you are offering a discount on a session and prints for anyone who books in July or August.
Compliment those who take advantage of your offer by pointing out that those who get their cards done early are part of the proactive group of persons who do not put things off to the last minuet. Note that not only will they be saving money, but that they will also be completing early one project which usually adds to the November/December holiday stress.
The OC photographer is relieving some of his holiday workload by finishing these sessions up by August or September. In addition he will likely pull in a few new clients who like the idea of being done early.
2. Offer a special for all those who book a wedding in the last 2 weeks of December and the First two weeks of January. Many people get engaged at this time. If you can attract the attention of the bride to be in this season, you are likely to book the wedding. You may consider offering a free or discounted engagement session if they are book a wedding and are willing to have the session done in January or February.
January and February are usually painfully slow months for most photographers. Offering an engagement session during this time not only takes advantage of the waive of new engagements, it also lets you use your slow time to create some value - the booking of weddings.
