Photographers Should Create a Monthly NewsletterSure great pictures are important. But equally important to a photography business is its clients. Stay in contact with them and watch your profits increase. This article is dedicated to practical ways to stay in contact with your current clients through email marketing. Create a monthly newsletter. This will provide several benefits. First, this will remind your clients on a regular basis of your name and of the fact that they have an interest in photography. In addition, this will give them a chance to know of the specials or new products you are offering. Doing this takes a little work but is not that complicated. Start keeping emails addresses in a spreadsheet or database; then, use a service like ConstantContact or some other service to create newsletters. Keep track of your response rate. I have noticed that I get about a 2% booking rate for my email lists each month. So if I have 1000 email addresses of previous clients, about 20 of them will book in any given month. This response rate depends a lot on the quality of your email contacts. If the list contains mostly repeat clients, the response will likely be much higher. Work gaining email addresses into your daily routine. As you meet potential clients don't just ask for their phone number, ask for their email address as well. Add a form to your website that collects email address. Make your emails visually attractive. Add lots of pictures. You are in the photography business and fair or not Keep in touch with your clients and you will continue to see your profits grow.
