KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and communicate all issues in pre-shift and cross shift meetings
  • Oversee employee job rotation and distribution of work assignments and provide guidance to a team member
  • Ensure each Team Member is performing standardized work
  • Follow maintenance procedures for all machines (TPM)
  • Assist in coordinating and performing routine changeovers and set-up activities according to production schedule and
  • customer requirements
  • Assist supervisor with overtime scheduling
  • Conduct daily Layered Process Audits (LPA) and implement corrective actions when required
  • Conduct SPC checks and first offs as per customer requirements
  • Ensure standardized work compliance from all team members including performing error proof checks
  • Assist with training and orientation of new employees and maintain the training matrix
  • Complete end of shift reporting and ensure work area is standard for the next shift
  • Participate in and comply with the continuous improvement ideas
  • Follow appropriate internal and external escalation procedures whenever a risk to the customer occurs

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience in
  • automotive manufacturing required

  • Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to relay instructions clearly
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Effective communication, organizational, time management skills
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset
  • Licensed forklift operator, an asset
  • Able to lift heavy objects specific to the operation
  • Ability to understand and operate all mechanical equipment in designated work cells
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
  • Must have strong awareness of safety
  • Must be flexible to rotate between jobs
