Overview:
  • Full featured 25" roll laminator designed for a professional production environment.
  • Ideal for copy shops, printers, in plant print shops and for use in medium and large sized organizations.
  • Takes lamination to the next level to allow for cold laminating, mounting, encapsulating and more.

Features / Strengths:

  • Offers mounting capabilities for use with 3/16" mounting boards including sintra, foam core, etc. Can be used with hot mount adhesive or with pretreated boards.
  • Can be used with a wide assortment of hot laminating films including 1.5mil, 1.7mil, 3mil, 5mil, and 10mil thicknesses.
  • Adjustable speed and temperature settings give you full ability to adjust for varying material thickness, film types and other factors.
  • Comes standard with 1" core adaptors. However, 2.25" core adapters are available for specialty films that are not available on a 1" core.
  • Integrated core adapter

Limitations / Weaknesses:

  • Can not accept laminating film on a 3" core. This limits the availability of some specialty films that only come on 3" cores.
  • It can be more difficult to configure and master this type of roll laminator than a typical school laminator or a simpler machine. This machine does a lot of things and that makes it a little bit more complicated and can take a little bit of work to learn.
  • This laminator can only laminate documents up to 25 inches wide. If you need to deal with wide format posters or other items you will need to choose a larger machine.
  • Like all roll laminators, this machine can be somewhat difficult to load. However, once you have done it a few times it gets a lot easier.

Construction:

  • Plastic sides with metal feed tray and components.
  • Generally does not require a lot of service. However, you need to be careful around the rollers and should not attempt to clean them with sharp objects or to laminate items with glitter, 3D objects or other materials that can damage the rollers.
  • If you are not careful it is possible to load this laminator backwards causing the film to wrap around the rollers and creating a big mess.

Recommendation:

  • This machine is a great starting point for a printer, copy shop or in plant print shop that wants to be able to do multiple types of lamination.
  • For the largest users there are faster more versatile laminators on the market. HoweverFree Web Content, they also cost a lot more.
  • Offers a great set of features for its price range and comes with the GBC name and 90 days of on site warranty service.
