Paper Folding Machine is a great system for light duty paper folding.

Strengths:
Petite dimensions allow this folding machine to be stored
on a desk top. It can be within arm's reach, ready to use whenever you
need it. Lack of a feed tray makes it even more compact and non-skid
feet help to hold the folder in place. And since it only weighs about
11 pounds, it can easily be moved from desk to desk for shared use.
As
paper is manually inserted into the feed, a photo-optic sensor
initiates to motor to begin folding automatically. A selector knob
located on the side of the device allows simple switching between the
two folds offered, letter fold and half fold. It is nice to not have to
adjust the fold plates yourself. The trifold letter setting, or "C"
fold, produces documents ready to slide into standard #10 envelopes.
The
machine can accept 16lb-24lb bond paper in either standard or A4 size.
One to three sheets of loose or stapled paper can fold at once on the
letter setting with up to five sheets able to enter on the half fold
setting. Up to 36 letters can fold per minute for a total of up to 2200
sheets per hour.
Though paper jams are unlikely, they are
easy to remove thanks to the standard handle for manual rolling. This
paper folder is also fairly simple to disassemble for further cleaning.
Martin Yale provides a one year limited warranty on this device.
Weaknesses:
While this is a great machine for light, occasional use,
it is not built for continuous operation or high volume folding, such as
mass mailings. Though it is capable of 2200 sheets per hour,
consistently using it at this rate will quickly wear out the machine.
If you need to routinely fold a high quantity of letters, we suggest
looking into a more heavy duty machine that can stand up to more
rigorous use.
As this is a basic device, it is not surprising
that it only offers two folds. For many offices, this will suit their
needs just fine. But if you'd prefer more varied fold styles, you might
consider a higher model with more versatile plate adjustment options.
One
last thing to note, this machine cannot fold glossy paper. Again, this
won't be a problem for many businesses. However, it is something to
think about if your office utilizes a large amount of glossy paper for
brochures or other documents. Martin Yale does offer larger machines
with glossy paper capabilities.
As you can see, the
P6400 by Martin Yale is well-suited to accommodate the light folding
needs of any personal or small office, including churches and schools.
It will improve productivity and save money in time and wasted paper.
It is ideal for users who routinely send out a few letters, whether for
business or correspondence, as well as small batches of invoices, flyers
or small booklets. The Martin Yale P6400 is a great choice for your
next personal paper folder.
