Say Goodbye to Your Boss

Have you ever met the situation that you want to quit the job, but you don't know how to give your quit notice?

Here are some skills of saying goodbye to your boss when you want to leave the company if you cannot stay in your company any more.

1. The relationship between you and your boss has become worse and worse and there is no possibility to improve it, however, your work load is heavier and heavier. While handing in your resignation to your boss, you’d better not say any acid, complaining words about your boss or your company to your any other colleagues. Do not leave any documentary evidence to show your negative feeling about your boss and company neither, or it may have unpredictable reverse effect on your future career. If you have to say something, you can just say that you need a new start. If the HR Department need you to attend the interview for the check-out procedure, you should express your opinions about your boss objectively and provide reference for company development.

2. You are an efficient and competant person possessing professional morality in your colleagues’ eyes, however, you are anxious, depressed and unhappy in your friends’ opinions. Meanwhile, there is no further development in this company, maybe you should consider about changing another job. Your boss may offer you a promotion or increase your salary to avoid the outflow of talent. At this moment, you may be stuck in an extreme dilemma, however, you should warn yourself that this job and company will not help you make any progress in your future and you should always keep a clear and tough mind to reject any temptation or hook from your boss and your company.

3. If your new offer is given by one of your previous companies’ strong competitors, how will you give your boss your notice to quit your job? I think it is a good way to hand in a resignation to your boss to express that you do appreciate the working period with him in this company. Or you can talk with him face to face to express your emotional thanks and your rational thought and analysis of the old and new jobs. For instance, you can say “I believe you must meet the same situation beofore, so it is not difficult for you to understand why I accepted this offer, right?” this kinds of sentence will definitely change your boss’s negative view on you, on the contrary, your boss will treat you as a mature, responsible and thoughtful person.
