Using mirrors in interior design calls for having the right type. A quick look online like in Artifax Mirrors,The major, most basic types of mirrors Articles and at showrooms and shops will tell you that there are so many different types of mirrors to choose from. Considering that they play a big role in designing a room, usually a focal point in a given space, it is very important to get the right type.

Here are the basic types of mirrors:

Wall mirrors

One of the most common types used in decorating a room is the wall mirror, and for good reason. It is very versatile and can instantly change the overall look and feel of the space. Large wall mirrors effectively create the illusion of more space, making the room look spacious and airy. In some design projects, a nice wall mirror is installed above a sofa set or fireplace, and to be 100% confident before you go out of the house, check your appearance at the wall mirror mounted at the front hall.

Vanity mirrors

Usually small in size, a vanity mirror is the perfect type for when you are applying your makeup and/or doing your daily personal hygiene ritual. A vanity mirror is designed in such a way that you can take a closer look at your appearance. You can pick it up or move it to a different angle for a better look. There are different kinds of vanity mirrors. Some even have built-in lighting as a helpful feature in certain tasks such as putting your contact lenses on.

Cheval mirrors

Standing mirror, floor mirror, full length mirror – no matter what you call it, a cheval mirror is a great addition to your bedroom so you can see yourself from head to toe. The good thing about a cheval mirror is that it can stand on its own and is relatively light so moving it from one room to another is a breeze. You can also swivel it to change its angle and take a closer look at a certain part of your body.

Swing arm mirrors

If you have a small bathroom, adding a swing arm mirror is the way to go. It is also called a pivot or extension mirror because it is composed of a small mirror with an arm that is mounted on the wall. Both the mirror and the arm are adjustable depending on your needs so move the mirror up or down to get a better look. Also, there are other swing arm mirrors that have an accordion feature, meaning you can extend the arm when you need it, then push it back when not in use.

Mirror manufacturers have come a long way when it comes to the types of mirrors that can be done. Obviously, there are other types available, but before you get overwhelmed with what to use, keep your design requirements in mind. Surely, you will find the right type of mirror for your design project.
