Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park is a Great Place for Family PortraitsThere are a number of terrific places to take family portraits in Orange County. Each city, Las Flores, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills and Laguna Hills each of their own special locations. While there are numerous great outdoor locations for a family portrait session in Orange County, the Coto de Caza City Park, otherwise know as the Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park is one of the best because it is easy to get to, there are a wide variety of settings that provide numerous and diverse artistic choices and it is a fun place to linger after the photo session has been completed. Easy Access An Orange County photographer should do whatever he can to make life easier for his
clients. By suggesting that the session be held at Riley Wilderness
Park, he is suggesting a
place that, while in a remote location, does not require driving a long
distance on old dusty roads. Coto de Caza is near the cities of Las Flores, Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo and Laguna Hills. The park is just off of Oso Parkway. The address is: 30952 Oso Parkway Coto de Caza, 92679 Oso Parkway is a fairly large paved road so clients need not travel a dusty road to a location where rustic, country portraits can be taken. Great Settings for Family Portraits Coto de Caza is a diverse park. A substantial part of the park is wooded. The rest of the park is made up of large open fields, rolling hills and riverbeds. These traits provide a number of rich, diverse and beautiful backgrounds for family portraits. Additionally, although the park is in Orange County, a major Southern California population center, the surrounding hills hide most of the evidence of human habitation. Therefore, most shots will not have unsightly houses or other buildings in the background. Fun Place for Families to Linger After the Shoot Many families who have their portraits taken in the park at Coto de Caza decide to stay afterwards and enjoy the surroundings. In this way the whole family gets something out of the evening. The parents are usually satisfied that they finally got the portrait taken they were planning for the past 5 years and the kids are happy to have trails to hike, trees to climb, and dry riverbeds to explore.
