The first step in using GBC Recloseable Velobind binding strips is to punch your documents. You can use the GBC Velobind V110e electric punch or the GBC Velobind V50 manual punch (now discontinued). Alternatively, you can purchase Velobind 11 hole prepunched paper. Although the paper will have 11 holesFree Articles, the Four Pin Recloseable Velobind strips will line up with the holes on the paper and will cover up all of the unused holes.

The second step in using GBC Four Pin Recloseable Velobind Binding strips is to insert the comb (the part with the pins) through the holes on your document. Generally it is easiest to simply stack up your document and push the comb through the document. Remember to push the pins through the front of the document so the nice finished side of the Velobind strip will be on the front of the document.

Finally you need to place the receiving strip on the back of your document and snap the pins in place. You simply need to put the pins through the holes on the receiving strip making sure that the grooves in the strip face out. Once the receiving strip is in place you simply fold the excess part of the pins over and snap them into the grooves in the receiving strip. You can do this by hand or you can use the Velobind Recloseable Binding / Debinding tool that came with your Velobind Punch.
