A boss is not a rare lot. The person referred to as a ‘boss’ comes from the same society as you. Only that he has the authority now, which makes him different from the others whom he authorises. And with authority comes a tendency to look up and ignore the sensitivity of those at the bottom.

There are many reasons why you have come to detest your employer, depending on your experience with him. And since you cannot change the boss, you change the job.

The boss lists the tasks and doesn’t tell how to do it. This is most common issue facing IT workers. The boss doesn’t help in the execution of work. Poor training facilities are available. But the employer is more than eager to put employee under scanner for non performance.

  1. Unachievable demands:

For people employed in target-based jobs, the greatest woe is inaccessible targets. The employer sets targets without any consultation with the employee. And every time the employee is below the expectations set for him/her, the boss is ready to censure for non performance. Learn to tackle boss’s unachievable demands at career resources.

Most bad employers are blamed for lacking sensitivity. Though it was common for the entrepreneurs during the early stages of industrial revolution, employers are now more sensitive to the demands of their employees.   1. Stunts your career growth:

This is particularly common of managers who are themselves insecure about their position. Such managers would not offer his employees growth opportunities, as he fears he will rise above him or worse become a competitor.
