Walmart is currently hiring the following positions:

·        Greeter – An entry-level job, greeters are responsible for welcoming customers to the store with a smile. Greeters are also responsible for answering any questions patrons might have and assist them in finding specific departments.  Ideal candidates for this position should be friendly and helpful as well as cheerful and pleasant to work with.  This position involves dealing directly with the customer on a daily basis.  A professional attitude should be demonstrated at all times.  Greeters are paid minimum wage, with the chance to make more the longer time spent with the company or through advancement into other areas of employment with Walmart.

·        Cashier – Cashiers are responsible for ringing up purchases and handling returns.  This position also requires a great deal of customer service.  Candidates should be helpful and have a firm grasp on store policy as it may be regularly inquired. Applicants for this position should be at least 16 years of age. This position is paid hourly and generally starts at around $8 an hour or minimum wage.

·        Sales Associate – Generally working in a specific department, sales associates assist customers in making purchases. Other job duties might include organizing shelves and answering questions about policy and procedures.  Applicants may be required to have prior experience in sales before consideration for employment.  Potential candidates should be able to demonstrate professionalism at all times in addition to providing quality customer service. Sales associates typically start at minimum wage, depending on experience and qualifications.

·        Management – Careers as managers also exist within the company as assistant managers and full store managers. Walmart assistant managers oversee operations in a specific department and ensure quality customer service is a top priority. Some administrative duties might also be required of assistant managers. Store managers oversee all operations and handle communications with the corporate office.  Store managers are also responsible for training assistant managers. To apply for these positions, potential candidates need to be at least 18 and are generally required to hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Management positions are full-time and salaried and typically make $30,000 to $60,000 a year.
