Railway And Bank Jobs Burdening The Major Share Of Government Jobs Employability
Getting into the government jobs is, a dream come true for a lot of people in the country. Although, people go for the private companies for their livelihood and employment, yet there is always an undercurrent of likeness for the government sector jobs. And so, any chance to serve in these jobs is rarely left out by the people.
Since the government jobs are much sought after by people, there should be sufficient number of organisations and offices where the citizens are possible to be recruited. In India, there are plenty of places in different sectors which come under the purview of the government, such as the defence forces, medical and health services, banking sectors, engineering and public works departments, government offices, railways, postal, etc and many more.
Railways and the banks are two of the largest sectors, where thousands of people are employed and are included under the central and state governments. These are therefore, very much sought after by the citizens of the country, and the trend is being driven by factors such as good pay, stability, perks, reasonable work hours, and other features, which are of somewhat disadvantage in the private sectors.

These are also the reasons why many people nowadays prefer to go for the jobs in the banks. Also, the increase in the number of banks and their branches has added to the availability of the bank jobs in the country. Various public sector banks are expanding their businesses into the insurance sector, mutual funds, loans, etc, so that the number of skilled and educated people is more. It is also because that the number of bank jobs is increasing, people are inclined towards them, as they have a better chance at making it through them.
Extensive spread of railway jobs
The department of railways is a large entity with the train stations and other related offices and works extending all over the country. The mere extent of the railways is an indication of the manpower that must be needed to manage different functions carried out by this particular sector in India. Since the entire railways is the sole lookout of the government, all the jobs published and advertised for the railway jobs are included under government jobs and that too, directly under the centre. There are 4 tiers of job categories and each of the job holders gets a good salary with other perks and people in the railway jobs also enjoy every facility as by the government employees. In the entire country, the railways have a lot of functions and people are recruited in different capacities and perform their work accordingly.
Both the banking sector and railways have an extensive network in the country, due to which the number of government jobs in these two departments is very high. Combinedly, they share a big fraction of the total number of such jobs and are able to employ millions of people.
