In May 2010, HTC released the Wildfire, one of the most impressive Smartphones to date. With features such as a 5 mega pixel digital camera, Wi-Fi Internet access and the renowned Android OS (v2.1) with HTC Sense UI and FriendStream, it is easy to see why it has proven popular.

Expandable storage is provided in the shape of an integrated micro SD card slot which is capable of accommodating a memory card of up to 32 GB, which is ample to store the average sized digital music collection and a whole host of other files.

 

In order to connect to the internet, the HTC Wildfire initially relies on 3G coverage, whereby an HSDPA connection provides download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. a faster browsing experience can be achieved thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity whenever users have access to local wireless networks. Cass 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE allow the handset to connect to the relevant cellular networks, and GPS with A-GPS support allows features such as the digital compass and Google Maps to function.

 

A useful 5 megapixel digital camera is also built into the back of the handset, which thanks to its high pixel resolution offers a convenient means of shooting high quality still images. A number of image enhancing features are included, such as autofocus, smile detection and an LED flash. The option to shoot video footage is also included, providing an alternative to shooting still images.

 

The combination of a Qualcomm 528 MHz processor and the renowned Android OS provide a great user experience as well as a perfect platform for customisation and expansion.

 

Thanks to its versatility, size and attractive aesthetics, the HTC Wildfire looks set to win over many more fans, and is an ideal smartphone for those looking for a powerful yet relatively inexpensive all rounder.
