These Personal tracker devices use standard GPS to carry out the tracking function. The information is transferred to the company’s database through a cell phone link. Once the data is uploaded, you can access it from your computer.

The company, which provides you GPS services, charges you for the data you upload to company’s database. You can upload high value tracking data for every 5 minutes. Real time personal tracker devices are much larger due to their battery components and cell phone functionality. One of the disadvantages of this system is that it needs cell phone communication to upload tracking data.

Thus, personal tracker is a useful device to keep track of individuals or vehicles. The technology is improving fast and more compact and reliable devices are in the pipeline.
