The handset utilises a 4 inch touch screen for navigation of the user interface.  This boasts super AMOLED capacitive technology meaning it is highly responsive yet offers superb rendering of on screen imagery thanks to a pixel layout of 480x 800 which is able to display up to 16 million vivid individual colours.  Accelerometer and proximity sensors are provided as standard along with multi-touch input support and a number of touch-sensitive shortcut keys.  The glass of the screen itself is oleophobic,The Nexus S From Google Is Manufactured By Samsung Articles meaning that the build up of fingerprints and smudges is avoided when using the touch screen.

16 GB of internal storage is provided as standard, meaning Google Nexus S is able to store your digital music collection, along with many video files, photos or documents you may need to keep with you at all times.  Thanks to this generous level of storage, the need for expandable memory such as a microSD slot is essentially eliminated.

The Google Nexus S calls upon both EDGE & GPRS to stay connected to the appropriate cellular networks on the move.  Browsing the internet is super fast thanks to an HSDPA connection providing speeds up to 7.2 mega bytes per second in areas with 3G coverage.  Wi-Fi connectivity is also provided, meaning users can take advantage of local wireless networks for a faster browsing experience.  Additionally, both micro USB and Bluetooth connections are provided so users can connect the handset to compatible hardware devices whereby a number of different tasks can be carried out.

The Google Nexus S is also highly competent camera phone.  The 5 mega pixel digital camera boasts a pixel resolution of 2560x 1920, meaning the resulting still images are of stunning quality.  In order to simplify the task of taking photos whilst simultaneously improving their quality, auto-focus, touch-focus and an LED flash are all provided, the latter of which overcomes the obstacle of low lighting conditions.  Geo-tagging is also included which keeps track of where users took photos and shot videos (a feature which functions thanks to GPS with A-GPS support).  The camera can be used to shoot video footage in WVGA quality at 30 frames per second, whilst there is a secondary VGA camera located on the front of the phone which can be used for portrait photos and video calls.

Whether you are looking for productivity device for the workplace, a comprehensively compatible multimedia phone, decent camera phone or a device or browsing the web on the move, the Google Nexus S is worthy of a closer look.  It comes with a comprehensive package of standard features ranging from multimedia and entertainment applications along with productivity tools for the workplace and social networking integration.

Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) is the operating system of choice and this works alongside a 1GHz processor resulting in a fantastic user experience.  Due to the combination of high end hardware and software alike, the Google Nexus S is an ideal alternative to the more established Smartphone brands.
