Video Collaboration - Is Your Company Ready for the Collaboration Age?

The brand new tagline being created by 'cisco' is ‘video may be the new voice’… now over time I am not sure that's strictly true, however when will video communications get to be the norm and replace traditional types of communication and collaboration?

The new tagline being coined by Cisco is ‘video is the new voice’… at this moment in time I’m not sure that is strictly true, but when will video communications become the norm and replace traditional forms of communication and collaboration?

The reality is that voice is available anywhere. It has evolved over time and the adoption of the mobile phone means voice and instant messaging is accessible anytime, anywhere. Based on usage, texting has overtaken voice calls as the most used form of communication, especially with teenagers. Neilson reported American teens on average send or receive 3,339 texts a month!

Traditional text and voice-centric forms of collaboration cannot, by themselves, address organisational challenges. True collaboration must address richer forms of communication such as video, allowing today’s businesses to assess the way their people interact and do business.

Video can change the face of business communications…

Cisco has conquered networks and IP telephony and since the acquisition of TANDBERG, they are now doing the same with video communications and collaboration. We buy into their vision, and with their market power they can afford to push the boundaries and set standards.

Cisco is delivering a new collaboration experience. The way we interact is changing rapidly and collaboration is key to competitive advantage…you cannot innovate without collaboration, and without innovation, companies do not succeed!

Regardless of your preferred communication method, video is the core motive for collaboration. In the years ahead, the winning organisations will be those that embrace unified communications and collaboration and empower employees everywhere.
