CCNA is the way to go for Cisco training. This will enable you to operate on the maintenance and installation of switches and routers. Fundamentally, the internet is based upon huge numbers of routers, and large companies that have a number of branches need them to connect their computer networks.

Routers are linked to networks, therefore it is essential to understand how networks function, or you will have difficulties with the course and not be able to do the work. Find training that features the basics on networks (for example CompTIA) before you start the CCNA.

Find a specially designed course that covers everything to make sure that you've mastered the necessary skills and knowledge before embarking on the Cisco skills.

Being a part of progressive developments in new technology is as thrilling as it comes. You personally play your part in defining the world to come. Technological changes and communication through the web will dramatically shape the way we live our lives in the near future; overwhelmingly so.

And don't forget salaries either - the income on average in the United Kingdom for the usual IT employee is much higher than the national average. It's likely you'll make quite a bit more than you could reasonably hope to get in other industries. It's evident that we have a substantial national need for certified IT specialists. It follows that with the constant growth in the marketplace, it seems there's going to be for years to come.

Getting into your first IT role can feel more straightforward if you're offered a Job Placement Assistance facility. Don't get caught up in this feature - it isn't unusual for companies marketing departments to make it sound harder than it is. Ultimately, the need for well trained IT people in Great Britain is why employers will be interested in you.

CV and Interview advice and support may be available (if not, see one of our sites for help). Make sure you update that dusty old CV straight away - don't leave it till you pass the exams! A good number of junior support jobs have been offered to people who are still studying and have yet to take their exams. At least this will get you on your way. Actually, a local IT focused employment service (who will, of course, be keen to place you to receive their commission) will be more pro-active than a recruitment division from a training organisation. It also stands to reason that they'll know the local industry and employment needs.

Certainly ensure you don't spend hundreds of hours on your training and studies, then call a halt and imagine someone else is miraculously going to find you a job. Get off your backside and get out there. Put as much time and energy into securing your new role as you did to gain the skills.

You have to make sure that all your accreditations are commercially valid and current - don't bother with programmes which provide certificates that are worthless because they're 'in-house'. All the major IT organisations such as Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco or CompTIA each have internationally recognised skills programmes. These big-hitters will give some sparkle to your CV.

Don't accept anything less than authorised exam simulation and preparation programs included in the package you choose. Because many IT examination boards are AmericanArticle Search, you must be prepared for the way exams are phrased. It isn't good enough simply going through the right questions - it's essential that you can cope with them in the proper exam format. You should make sure you verify your depth of understanding through quizzes and practice in simulated exam environments prior to taking the real deal.
