Tip Number One: Do a monthly defragmentation of the laptop’s or desk top’s hard disk.

It also does compression, in other words, frees up some of the space in the drive. It only takes less than an hour for defragmentation to be completed, and that process can really reverse slow computer performance. It is advisable for computer users to do disk defragging once a month for their PCs to perform better.

Tip Number Two: See to it that your CPU does not overheat.

If your goal is to prevent computer damage or to speed up your PC, it is also necessary for you to keep the CPU cool. This can be done by wiping away the dust and any grime that block the computer’s vents. Included in computer maintenance tips is also to place your desktop or laptop in a room that’s well ventilated, ideally one that has air conditioning to keep the system from overheating. Tip Number Three: Make sure that the PC’s Firewall is always turned on.

1.    Run your anti-virus software every time you turn on your laptop or desktop, or at least once a week.

2.     Delete cookies, browsing history, and temporary files from time to time.

3.    Run a registry cleaner at least once a month to check for any errors in the registry, and repair those errors as well.
