If you are current in Microsoft Dynamics annual enhancement program,Dynamics GP Partner IL: FRx reports design Articles we encourage you to review FRx knowledge base and take self training, reading FRx manual on Row Format, Column Layout, Reporting Tree.  If you are not current in enhancement program, your customer source access is no longer available and you will need external Great Plains FRx consultant help.  This small publication gives your several tips on FRx support, please feel free to read our previous articles on FRx, Dynamics GP, SAP Business One, Microsoft CRM:

1.       FRx 6.7.  This version is recommended for Dynamics GP 10.0, 9.0 and 8.0.  You can imagine that these three GP versions covered long period of time, to this date it is probably five years.  If you speculate about the fact of FRx 7.6 longevity, you should probably be thinking about FRx service pack sensibility – and this is what it is

2.       Earlier FRx versions.  6.5 is recommended for Great Plains Dynamics 7.5 and 7.0.  For those versions and earlier ones: 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0, 3.2 FRx was available in two flavors: for Pervasive SQL Server and Ctree from one side and for Microsoft SQL Server (where you typically had to deal with FRL tables installation and population) from another side

3.       FRx technical support trivia.  Here you typically deal with Sysdata folder and its contents (Microsoft Access database files, protected by private password, where FRx stores Specification Sets, Row Formats, Column Layouts, Multicurrency Info, Reporting Trees, Reports, etc.).  G32 files, where FRx stores GL indexes, these files have the names, similar to Great Plains company DB (or file folder for 7.5 and earlier) name.  Plus, again, as FRx is very sensitive to Service Pack, please review your current FRx installations, help->about FRx, write down FRx version.  For Dynamics GP 10.0 FRx 6.7 SP 9 or higher is required

4.       Reports Design.  FRx is suitable for Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement and Statement of Cash Flow, plus consolidated versions of these reports.  If you are thinking about managerial reporting, where you are going beyond GL ledger module and financial reporting framework, please consider SSRS, Crystal Reports, GP Report Writer, or generic tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access
