How to Perform a Windows Repair

At any time or for any cause, Windows XP can ably and randomly generate errors. The reason for this trouble could be anything. In most of the cases repairing of these problems through the original settings can provide simple solutions.

Preparations

 

Before performing the restoration process, verify that you have taken the  Data Backup of all the important information of your PC and its other hard drives. After you have successfully completed the Data Backup, insert the installation CD of Windows XP and  allow the computer to reboot.

 

During the rebooting process it is required to reboot from the installation CD. Two different techniques for the reboot process are there but different keys are present for different computers.

 

Technique-1: To load up the screen, first, press the F-keys and then select the boot device. As for example, for most of the cases, keys like F8, F10, or F12 are used.

 

Technique-2:  Now go for the method of loading the BIOS menu in your Windows XP operating system. When your computer is at the process of booting, press keys like DEL, F2 and the other keys, which are showed at the bottom of the computer screen.

 

Performing the Repair

 

Once your computer starts booting, it will pop up a message “Press any key to boot from  the CD” in your computer screen. To close the message box press any key from your keyboard and the CD will start loading the files. After loading from the CD is completed three options will then appear to your screen.

  1. Click on the key ‘Enter’ for installing Windows XP.
  2. Press the F8 key and then accept all the terms and conditions.
  3. For beginning a Windows Repair the installation CD will spot out the current Windows Installation.
  4. Finally click on the key ‘R’ to start the process of repair.

 

During this time the computer will continue to delete all the existing files and will readily install the new ones. After it completes all these processes it starts rebooting the system. As soon as the computer reboots the installation screen will appear again. Once this entire process is complete the computer will automatically start rebooting again and the last setup screen will then appear  into your computer screen. Click on ‘Next’ and fill up any other required information. Now your Windows XP is ready after finishing its complete installation process.

All the computer programs will surely stay integral and save it for every Windows updates. The updation of Windows mostly depends on its version but you will find its every update from the Windows Updates.
