Here are a few simple steps to move on after a breakup.

You've decided to let it go and you have gotten to the point of moving on after a breakup. There are a number of things you can do. But there is one thing you can do that has a dual purpose. It will move you forward and make you more appreciative of your life and make you a happier person.

A breakup is one of the hardest times in a person's life. A useful way to work at getting beyond your breakup is getting an attitude of gratitude. You wonder, if I'm feeling so crappy, how can I ever feel happy about anything. Well you can and there is an exercise that you can do every day and it will help improve your attitude.

Try to do this everyday. Pick three to five things you are grateful for and write them out, starting with "I am grateful for..." It might not seem like it will do much, but by writing it out it sets the idea in your subconscious.

People that have done this everyday for more than a few weeks have shown to be more optimistic; sleep better; have lower blood pressure; have less feelings of bitterness, sadness and fear; have fewer physical ailments; and do a better job at achieving their own personal goals. Those are some pretty cool things to achieve just by writing down a few things that you are grateful for everyday.
