Many people overlook their ability to sell the knowledge they have about their passion. "How To" information with tips and instructions about a topic are a great way to make money from something that you love.

One of the reasons people overlook their ability to benefit financially by their knowledge about a topic is because they do not see themselves as the expert in the field. They falsely believe that there are already plenty of books and information on the topic that people could find and their "two cents worth" is worth only, well, two cents. This could not be further from the truth.

If you know more about something than someone else and you are sharing what you do know, you are the expert to that person in that moment. Think about when someone approaches you to ask you what time it is. How many resources are there in the world that could accurately tell them, to the millisecond, what time it is? You certainly are not the ultimate expert on the current time of the day, are you? There may even be a big clock programmed by GPS satellite time just around the corner. But in that moment, to that person, you are the expert because you are the only resource they are using. People most often use resources that are right in front of them, not the ones that are the best or most knowledgeable.

Think about all of the books there are in the library. How many of them have been written by scholars and the very best in their field? How many of them have you read? How many of them have the average person read? Compare that to how many people have watched the evening news. People use resources that are the most accessible. They turn to what is convenient for advice and information, not necessarily what is most accurate or informative.

This is good news for you. You can be that person with the watch in the street telling people "what time it is," so to speak, about your passion even though there are other experts with more experience and more knowledge just around the corner. You can be the expert to that person in that moment by making your information more accessible to them than other experts. Your information about your passion can become more valuable than other's information because it is easier to access.
