Later, the name was changed to the name known as Matriculation Exam. This exam was considered as one of the earliest entrance tests. However, it was actually in the 1950s when the first ever entrance test, JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) was inaugurated by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Ever since then, the JEE and CAT have been universally recognized as entrance tests and exams. The JEE is an entrance test for engineering aspirants to get admission in different colleges. On the other hand, the CAT 2013 is going to be the most recognized test for those, who wish to enter into the field of management studies. Over time, there have been other tests as well. One of the most popular tests in recent times is the AIEEE which is short for the All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Exam.
