I spent a lot of time examining the Online MBA in IT, I felt that at
my stage of professional development, I was taking on expanding
managerial responsibilities at the organization. I was at a point

where I had to deal with complicated staffing, budgeting, and
operational issues. How were we going to build ourselves strategically
and how were we going to build for the future? I felt that for my
total professional development, the skill set and the tools of the Distance learning MBA
were exactly what I needed to enhance and augment my professional
career. With the passion toward my job and my role. I was not prepared
to leave my job and attend a traditional two-year MBA program. I
evaluated both the part-time and full-time programs as well as
different Executive MBA programs. Overall, the Distance learning MBA
presented the most advantageous opportunity in that I could augment my
work with what I knew I needed to further my career. I began
questioning business practices, principles, and desired to return to
school. I eventually attended Online MS in IT, which involved school
work on campus for two weeks at a time, an extended period of time via
computers, and five residencies. There is no “one” reason to attend an
Distance learning MBA program there are least twelve. The
Distance learning MBA offers “hands-on” experience in starting,
building, expanding, and managing a business. Typically accomplished
in two years, the program draws many of the best and the brightest
both in faculty and in student body. A classroom full of business
professionals, many on fast-track to executive status, drive classroom
discussions facilitated by the best and most experienced faculty the
university has to offer. I feel the Online MS in IT
is an incredibly valuable degree. It means that the candidate is
someone with tremendous parctical experience, the kind of experience I
evaluate to hire. I also feel that the Distance learning MBA offers
the company.The Online MBA in IT has helped my career in a way no
other program can. Unlike a full-time program, I was able to
continue to advance my career while in school. Rather than putting my
advancement on hold for two years, I was able to maintain my status
and achieve econnomic and title increases while attending business
school. Perhaps more importantly, I was able to apply what I was
learning as I learned it. This increased my retention and lifted my
abilities on the job. Taking the time to explore all your options is
the first step toward a more satisfying learning experience. Taking
the time to learn about the Executive MBA is well worth the payoff
in advancing your career. This very personal decision requires doing
some homework otherwise you will set your career and bank account
back considerably. In addition, attending the right business school
does not guarantee that you will secure the dream job. Some companies
only recruit from certain schools. Some companies only recruit from
specific types of programs and are particular about a school;s
accrediation. Some companies recruit candidates only after fulfillling a
specific internship. In sum, even with an MBA, your career remains
largely away from the Duke campus outside the country.
