In order to train others to earn the certificate that the TABC Texas authorities will accept, the trainer must possess their own TABC certification.

The establishment in which they work must also have a Texas liquor license, specifying the type of alcoholic beverages they are legally authorized to sell, as well as the hours during which they can offer alcohol for sale. Some communities may also have specific regulations regarding the sale of alcohol and anyone with certification caught violating the laws of the TABC Texas authorities can hold them personally liable. In many establishment, if an employee is caught violating the law, they are instantly terminated.
