Worry not! If you haven’t been assigned a topic for your essay yet,Essay Topic Not Assigned Yet? Articles then you’re going to have to get creative with choosing one yourself. There are a plethora of topics to chose from that will not only be interesting to write, but also grab attention of your examiners. Also, be glad that you have the freedom to choose a topic that’ll essentially be something that interests you greatly, leading to a stronger essay.

The first thing you’ll need to clarify is the purpose of the essay your about to write. Do you want your essay to be persuasive enough to the reader to agree with your viewpoint? Or do you want your essay to provide an explanation of how to complete a particular task or goal? Your topic must fit your purpose adequately so that your essay is properly streamlined.

Next, write down some subjects that interest you in general. You’ll find that you have a variety of topics to choose from, no matter what the purpose of your essay is. If you’re having problems in thinking about appropriate topics, then have a look at your surroundings. You’ll be amazed just how much things around you may inspire you to write about them with peculiar interest. It could be anything from current affairs, sports, recreational hobbies, technology etc.

Often times you’ll find that you have plenty of topics to choose from, but can’t figure out which one to use. In such cases, examine each one individually to see how you feel about that topic. If your essay is to be explanatory, make sure that you are quite well-informed about the topic. If your essay is persuasive, ensure that you’re moderately passionate enough about the topic to provide reasonable arguments. And if you find that NONE of the topics from your list will fit in the essay, simply choose one at random. You never know it may be a better topic than you first thought.

Before you proceed to write your essay, review your selected topic title one more time and think about the type of paper you are expected to present. Is it supposed to be a general overview, or a specific analysis of the topic? If it’s supposed to be an overview, then you may proceed with the next step. If it’s supposed to be a specific analysis, make sure your topic is very specific. You can move on to actually writing the essay once you determine that the topic title is suitable enough.
