Find Herbology Schools in the United States and Canada. Prospective students searching for a unique education and practical training in herbal medicine will find that herbology schools can provide them with necessary skills and knowledge to become future herbalists and herbal practitioners. Today, one can explore diverse fields of herbalism and botany through a variety of herbology schools.

Herbology schools today offer a variety of courses in which one can partake.  Whether you're interested in attending a workshop to gain an overview of herbal remedies and nutrition, or if you're more serious about earning a certificate or degree, then herbology schools can provide these curriculums to you as well.

A number of introductory classes offered through herbology schools allow students to learn basic instruction in how to harvest, dry, preserve and prepare medicinal plants.  Some seminars are geared toward nutrition and wellness; and teach students fundamentals in herbal recipes, spices and flowers to create and manufacture aromatic oils, creams, and other spice blends.  Specialty courses offered through herbology schools may also involve teachings in Native American herbalism, as well as Oriental medicine.

Herbology schools do differ in curriculums and educational programs so it is always wise to review class schedules and which types of learning platforms are available.  In many cases, a number of herbology schools may extend opportunities for students to earn certification and/or degrees.  These long-term courses involve in-depth herbal medicine studies including anatomy and physiology, aromatherapy, botany, herbal medicine theory and history, plant biochemistry and chemistry, nutrition, gardening and harvesting, herbal formulations and medicine making, and relative subject matter.

Successful candidates, who have completed coursework at one of several herbology schools will have learned how to accurately identify, grow, harvest and make herbal medicine from a variety of plants and flowers.  In addition, courses through herbology schools will have given graduates key educational and practical foundations in how herbs can affect the body, and which herbs are effective in preventing and treating common illnesses and conditions.

No two herbology schools are the same.  While some may provide correspondence courses, others may strictly offer on-campus courses and seminars.  Additionally, if you're naturally drawn to Oriental medicine, then Chinese herbology schools may be more ideal for you.  While some herbal medicine colleges extend some common Eastern medicine basics, Chinese herbology schools will provide more in-depth curriculums based on Oriental medicine philosophies, theories and practices.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding herbology schools, let career training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore career school programs near you.
