Neither Maharashtra Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) nor the police seem to be serious in getting to the root of the scam,No one's in hurry to probe engineering admissions scam Articles which has had serious repercussions on the admissions.

Sources claimed that both DTE and police are passing the buck to each other and alleging non-cooperation from the other instead of investigating the racket.

The modus operandi is suspected to be similar to the infamous Kohchade scam of Nagpur University of 1999, which led to the arrest of scores of students and top officials.

Chennai Engineering Colleges

Quite surprisingly, after initial investigations, officials at the level of joint director of technical education in Nagpur suddenly took a U-turn and refused to name private engineering colleges allegedly involved in the scam.

Engineering Graduation

Sources alleged DTE officials were hand-in-glove with these colleges, and therefore allotting them ARCs to increase their student numbers.

They said this is evident now, since joint director of technical education Gulabrao Thakre was not revealing the names of five colleges issued notices along with the colleges that lost their ARC status.

So far, action has been taken only against Nuva, Anjuman, Radhikatai Pandav and Tulsiram Gaikwad Patil colleges, where large-scale discrepancies were found by DTE.
