Dus Tola is a story of a typical Indian father who wants to marry his daughter in a wealthy family and improve his social status in the bargain. Inspired by the folk tales carried from generation to generation, ‘Dus Tola’ is a simply told story of victory of goodness over greed. ‘Unke Nashe Main’ girl Aarti Chhabria will play the role of ‘Suvarnalata Shastri’, while her love interest ‘Shankar Sunar’ will be played by Manoj Bajpaee. The eminent Marathi actor, the one who played the role of Gandhiji in ‘Munnabhai Lage Raho’ – Dilip Prabhawalkar plays the role of ‘Pandit Daya Shastri’, Aarti’s father. The movie will also star Govind Namdeo, Asrani, and Bharti Achrekar. Little known Pallavi Sharma makes her debut in the movie and will be seen playing the role of ‘Geeta’.The movie is the directorial debut of Ajoy and has been produced by Kunwar Pragy Arya, Sanjay Bhattacharjee and Sushma Reddy. Renowned lyricist ‘Gulzar’ has written the lyrics for this movie, while singers Sukhwinder Singh, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan have given their vocals for the songs in the movie. Hollywood’s big boys ‘Warner Bros’ produced this movie with Aryan Brothers Entertainment. The movie is all set to release on 22nd October 2010.Following in the steps of Shahrukh Khan’s hit ‘Swades’ which was shot in the village of Wai, the director of the film has chosen to shoot the movie in the small town of Sonapur. “To make a village story authentic, you cannot create it in a studio. Our entire film is based in the village. So we chose to shoot at actual location in Wai and Mahabaleshwar. Certain sequences were done at Gorai too...We really had to be very creative with our lighting and camera to get proper shots,” says the debutant director.‘Dus Tola’ is a slice-of-life tale which mirrors our society, and is light-hearted in its narrative.
