Blackjack Strategy Analysis

Casinos are making it more and more difficult to win at blackjack.  However, there is a way to fight back.

Every blackjack strategy has two components: the playing component, and the betting component.  Basic strategy is the playing component for almost all blackjack strategies and for years the best betting component has been adjusting your bets based on precise card counting.  But casinos are doing a good job at making these traditional components obsolete.

Playing Component

If you play basic strategy perfectly and bet the same amount each hand (flat betting), the house only has a small edge.  But playing basic strategy has become more complicated over the years.  With all of the changes that casinos have made, you cannot simply play from one basic strategy chart anymore.  With each variation in table rules and number of card decks used, there is a subtle change in how you play basic strategy.  For example, if the dealer has to hit soft seventeen; if you can split aces more than once; if you can split other pairs up to four times; if you can surrender; if you can double down on any two cards; if blackjack pays less than 3 to 2; and if the dealer uses one, two, four, six, or eight decks will all have an impact on basic strategy.  This results in a multitude of playing charts to memorize.  Even in the same casino, you will see tables with different combinations of table rules and number of decks used.  This paves the way for inconsistent play and loss of focus on the betting process.  Maybe we need to look at other playing options.

Betting Component

Betting components will range anywhere from flat betting to high risk progression betting.  As mentioned earlier, accurate card counting has been the best approach to betting over the years.  But casinos have implemented numerous tactics that have made card counting a lost art.  Tactics like burn cards, early shuffle, multiple decks, and continuous shuffling machines have made precise card counting virtually impossible.  Even if you can find that rare table where you can count cards effectively, and you start winningBusiness Management Articles, the house will notice and remove you from the premises.  Why spend many hours becoming proficient at something that will only give you a slight edge if you do find a good table and then not be allowed to use your skills?  Maybe we need to look at other betting strategies.

Blackjack Strategy Solution

A good solution for the playing component is to play from just one consolidated playing chart regardless of what table or casino you are playing.  This will allow you to automatically play in a consistent manner which will then let you concentrate on betting.  And a good solution for the betting component is to use a low risk no counting strategy based on win/loss trend progressions.  These solutions will give you an efficient blackjack strategy to play anywhere without fear of being shown the door.  You can then relax and enjoy the game of blackjack again.
