A Christmas is incomplete without decorations.

As we think of Christmas nearing each year,Christmas Decorations- Make Them At Home This Year Articles the first thing invariably comes to our minds is Christmas decorations. Each year you must be waiting to re-decorate your house in that warm special way to enjoy that great Christmas feeling and welcome your guests. So like each year you are now prepared to do your Christmas shopping and have already done some research as to where to go for your favourite items. But you can choose to be a bit different this year. Why not make your favourite decoration items at home itself instead of spending a huge amount of money to just buy them.

First of all think of lights. I feel lights are the most important factor to any type of decorations. They not only light up your area, but also add up warmth and thrill to all those watching the decorated area. Lights when put up in different shades can give a variety of colour to your living area and moreover provides that spark to your house. Decide how you would want to put up the lights. Would it be all over the house or just in living room or just the Christmas tree area? It depends on how much you want to light up in the exteriors and in the interiors. Lights although you need to buy from the market, you can still change the colours of some old white lights or newly bought lights by wrapping them with coloured paper. In this way your twinkling bulbs would appear to be of a variety of colours. Also, take proper measurements before hanging the lights everywhere; otherwise it would not appear neat.

After lights comes another very important part of decorating the area of the Christmas tree itself. Of course without beautifying this area your Christmas decorations would be incomplete. So why not try something different this time instead of lights here. Try making artificial candies and gifts at your home for decoration. Remember that this is family time and you can spend this time with your kids and other members of the family in making some nice crafts for decoration. Toffees are very easy to make, all you need is a collection of small round balls and some coloured paper. Just cut the coloured paper to make your wrapper in a square shape and wrap it around the balls and your toffees are ready to be put up everywhere. And if you can arrange for thermocol balls, then you can insert a small stick in these to make lollipops as well.

You can also make pinecone trees sitting at home by just collecting pinecones of various sizes. One of my most favourite things of homemade Christmas decorations is snowflakes. These are simple to make but still look great. All you need is some cotton, glitters and glue stick to make them and fix them on your Christmas tree or all over the place. Use Internet to find out methods of how to make various other decoration items as well and I am sure your kids would love it too. After all this is the only occasion in the whole year where you get to spend some quality time with your kids, so why not turn it into a memorable experience.
