Johnny Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, June 9th 1963. He lived most of his life in Florida where he gained a interest in music. He even dropped out of school when he 15 years old to pursue his dream of being a rock star. He made progress in the music world playing a garage band named The Kids. Depp’s former wife Lori Anne Allison wife introduced Depp to rising star Nicolas Cage. Cage encouraged Depp to act and he landed a roll in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). He got his big break in 1987 when a replacement was needed for Jeff Yagher in the T.V. show “21 Jump Street” (1987).

From then on he starred in several roles including three films with director Tim Burton. Burton and Depp found success in Edward Scissorhands (1990). He played famous novel writed James Berrie in Finding Neverland (2004) before starring in the movie adpation of Roal Dahl’s famous Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). Ironically as a child, Depp was very allergic to Chocolate.

In 1999, he moved to France where he lived with his daughter and girlfriend. Mildly eccentric he does not allow his children to be photographed. He also owned a popular night club called the Viper Room in Los Angeles. The viper room is infamous for being the death place of River Phoenix, the rising star brother of Joaquin Phoenix, who overdosed on drugs.

He is known for his strange characters and rebellious attitude while at the same time being a critically acclaimed actor.
