There’s almost always an element of romance or angst involved in vampire fiction.  You’ve come to expect it,Vampire Fiction That Breaks The Old Rules – Giving You Something New! Articles I’m sure – most readers are of the mind that ALL vampire stories must have one, the other, or both.

When I started writing vampire stories back in 1997, that how I figured it was.  But then I had a revelation…

THERE ARE NO RULES – vampire fiction can be or do ANYTHING it wants!

Strangely enough, not many readers or writers realize that little secret.

You always get evil villains like Bela Lugosi’s wonderful Dracula, tragic princes like Anne Rice’s compelling Lestat, or angsty forever-teens like Stephanie Meyer’s emo-vamp Edward.

The usual rules hold that vampire fiction isn’t supposed to be about fun and games.  It’s serious stuff, boys and girls!

There’s the classic inner struggle over how moral it is to drink the blood of other people, and there’s plenty of examples of vampires who go ahead and drink blood and become heartless monsters because of it.

It seems there’s no hope for a compromise in that kind of situation!  This is why…

In almost all vampire stories, the vampires aren’t very happy.  But somehow, they often get tangled up in all kinds of torrid, page-turning romance-thrillers that make the ladies swoon.  You’ve read your fair share – that’s just how it is.

But that ain’t necessarily so.

It doesn’t always have to be about angst, romance, and villainy – what about action, adventure, hilarity, and even humanity?  Yes – HUMANITY.  I write vampire fiction from the position that…

When you become a vampire, you’re still a human being – you’re faster, stronger, and smarter than ever before, but in your heart, you’re still the person you always were.

With courage and imagination, you can do ANYTHING when you’re a vampire – you just need a little courage and a little imagination.  That’s where the Hollywood Vampires come from.

You’ll find over 30 tales – including 4 complete books – at the Hollywood Vampires website, showing you what happens when vampire stories don't do what they're supposed to.

With the Hollywood Vampires, you’ll be treated to a rock ‘n roll-drenched electric wonderland jam-packed with hard-hitting mayhem, outrageous humor, and vampires who act like REAL PEOPLE.

You’ll meet wild-hearted characters like fan-favorite Stacey, who’s always got a grin and a laugh and is constantly getting himself into stupid situations – like taking a zombie and a werewolf trick-or-treating in the screwball adventure “I Walked With A Zombie.”

Or you’ll see what happens when a fallen rock star rediscovers his own humanity and gains personal redemption with the help of a sultry vampire guitarist in the darkly thoughtful “Gimme Danger” – which is based on the Stooges song of the same name.

Screamin’ Willie will satisfy your craving for vampire fiction loaded with full-on action, sword-fights, and mutant monsters in “Shades Of Grey,” where the eccentric old vampire goes to war with a horde of vampire hunters out for his blood.  And just wait’ll Henry – the haunted voodoo skull – gets into the act…

Angsty, romance-heavy vampire stories are fine for most people – hell, I own every book in the Vampire Chronicles myself.  It can be engaging, entertaining stuff, and I take nothing away from it.  But sometimes you need something different – sometimes VAMPIRES are different…

When you’re a vampire, you can be an action hero, a rock star, or a legend in your own time – you’ve got the world at your feet… so live it up!

Vampire fiction focused on the negative parts of vampirism are everywhere, and that’s cool – most readers love it.  I’m happy it sells so well because it keeps the genre profitable and popular, which is good for all of us vampire fiends!

But at the same time, what about the other side of the coin?  What happens when a vampire retains his humanity and just wants to enjoy his immortality?

Check out just how DIFFERENT vampire stories can be when the old rules are tossed aside and an innovative, modern, and adventurous approach is taken.  Thrill, chill, and laugh yourself stupid with the Hollywood Vampires by clicking on the link below…
