With the advancement in technology nothing in the world of electronics or anything related to it has been left unchanged. Music is also no exception. From playing music on huge tapes or cassettes to just being able to listen to music on the radio, time has really changed now.

Music can now be listened to by anyone anywhere. The concept of compact discs was introduced in the 20th century. When music was played on compact discs it was recorded on them in audio cd format which used to take up a lot of space. Thus a CD could only store a maximum of say 20 tracks. But that was good enough in the 20th century and a few following years too. No later with more technological growth music could be recorded on compact discs using MP3 format which would require less storage space and produce much better sound too.
What exactly is an MP3?
An MP3 in technical terms is called an ISO-MPEG Audio Level 2 Layer 3. In general terms it is the most compressed form of music. It basically is an audio file compressed at a rate of 10:1, making it a small file which retains excellent sound quality. Unlike the traditional music CDs, an MP3 CD can hold much more songs than their previous counterparts. Let’s say for example, a traditional audio CD would play for about 70-80 minutes which would consist of only 15-20 tracks, whereas an MP3CD can play up to 10-12 hours of music. But not all CD players are capable of playing MP3 format.
 To ensure MP3 playback on your disc reader you shall have to select players that can properly decode MP3s. MP3 players come in various sizes with different appearances and usually portability; however to play back MP3s with the same precision and accuracy they must have the same decoding mechanism.
MP3 CD players are being manufactured by many big brands and are available in various designs. But honestly these are also getting outdated with the advent of other compact and portable media devices which can play music and videos together along with other superb features which are appealing to the youth. But better still CD mp3 players have their own class and usage and would still always exist in the market.
