Global Climate Change – and its link to burning fossil fuels – now appears in the news on a daily basis. In a showcase of Renewable Energy as the key to Climate Recovery,SOLAR 2006 - "Renewable Energy: Key to Climate Recovery" July 7-13 in Denver` Articles the American Solar Energy Society will hold its SOLAR 2006 National Conference (www.solar2006.org) July 7-13 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Downtown Denver, Colorado.

The ASES conference is America’s largest and most prestigious annual gathering of sustainable energy professionals. Many prominent experts in the fields of Renewable Energy and Climate Change are scheduled to speak at SOLAR 2006:

• James Hansen, Director of Goddard Institute for Space Studies, NASA’s top climate change scientist, and champion for climate change education;

• James Woolsey, Former CIA Director, and Board Member of the Set America Free coalition;

• Timothy Wirth, former US Senator, President of United Nations Foundation and Better World Fund;

• Denis Hayes, President of the Bullitt Foundation, and Chairman of the Earth Day Network;

• Amory Lovins, Founder of the Rocky Mountain Institute, and leading energy expert;

• Warren Washington, Chair of the National Science Board, Head of NCAR’s Climate Change Research Section, and climate change modeling pioneer;

• Dan Arvizu, Director of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, member of the National Science Board, and international Renewable Energy expert;

• Donald Aitken, Sr. Consulting Scientist for the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Energy Department;

• Dennis Dimick, Senior Editor of Environment & Technology for National Geographic Magazine, and the driving force behind the magazine’s coverage of climate change;

Thousands of experts from around the world – scientists, engineers, architects, designers, policymakers, educators, utility representatives, and other decision makers – will also register for SOLAR 2006. Thousands more are expected to visit over 100 exhibitors in the sold-out exhibit hall, and participate in a wide variety of forums, technical sessions, workshops, tours, and special events in order to network and learn more about Renewable Energy’s crucial role in our future.

SOLAR 2006 will marshal these resources to lay out specific details for how energy efficiency improvements and Renewable Energy (solar, wind, bioenergy, and geothermal) can dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and put us on the path to climate recovery. A final wrap-up session at the closing luncheon on Thursday, July 13, will pull results together into an overall vision of large-scale Renewable Energy deployment.

Significant discounts are available for those who register for SOLAR 2006 before June 1.

Numerous educational, art, cultural, and other events pertaining to Climate Change problems and Renewable Energy solutions will also take place in & around the Denver Metro Area in conjunction with SOLAR 2006. Visit www.solar2006.org for more information.
