Baby names can be likened to gold. This eBook is aimed at gold miners,Golden Baby Names Articles who may need assistance both with the method and with the tools to make finding baby names easy, successful, and enjoyable. As a matter of fact some parents after going through this process once and again find baby names amusing even later in their life. You can find them on baby name forums and baby name websites sharing their revelations and helping others in making their choices.

In order to get some gold, most likely we need to dig and find much more golden ore. The same is true with the names. Traditions of old were strict and simple: look into your family tree for a couple of past generations and choose a name. Later on some started to name their children after famous persons they admired. Then there was still another step taken to invent new names that reflect processes happening in society. As an example we can take Russian revolution with names like VLADLEN, which stands for “VLADimir LENin”, or DAZDRAPERMA decoded as “DA ZDRAvstvuet PERvoe Maya”. And now anything can be a name! National borders are down. Cultural taboos are overthrown. Anything goes.

But let us come back to the method and the tools. The first thing we need to do is to develop our initial name list. There are lots of helpful materials out there. What you buy is a baby name book containing thousands of names. It is virtually impossible to read it through. Some of them can deliver a hundred thousand names typed in very small print. After you open it you want to close it right away and stick to the old fashioned way of your family tree.

My advice in this case is to hunt for a baby name list that is composed according to some strict rules. For myself, I used the public statistics from the Social Security Office of America. I believe this organization does not inflate the baby name list for the sake of the thickness of it. Every year they publish the top 1,000 baby names for boys and girl respectively. To get my list, I have collected together the yearly top 1,000 names given to babies in the U.S. over the past 130 years and deleted all duplicates.

Why the U.S.? Because in this melting pot we have baby names of all cultures neatly lined up by the alphabet which is understood all over the world. And that is what we need for our initial step of baby-name choosing. And because we want to look at all of them, I made sure they are printed beautifully with the biggest possible font in the center of your big computer screen. Right, you guessed correctly, I have written a computer program, even two programs – one for baby boys’ names and another one for baby girls’ names. The programs can perform a slow slide show and you can relax, reading names aloud to make sure you like the sound of them alone and together with your surname. You may or may not click the next button to have your hands free to write down the names you feel comfortable with. And your baby name list will grow to include all the names you like.

Now when you have your big baby name list, the next step is to zero in and find out statistical facts and by this remove from the list some names that can bring potential problems. I would suggest looking for golden names: they are weighty, they shine, and they will never get corrupted. We will let numbers talk, but you are the one who makes all the decisions. The chapters of the Golden Baby Name eBook address various considerations you may have concerning the names from the big baby name list you have built.
