With the recession dying out, there is again a comeback in the fields of real estate and businesses. 1. American Intl. group: Topping the charts at the topmost position, this US based company has about three times the assets as compared to its immediate followers.

2. Allianz Worldwide: with the European companies being the fastest ones to come out of the slump, this German company has market value more than 60 billion dollars

3. AXA Group: reaching close to the German firm, is another company from the adjoining country. This French company is also of almost the same market value as that of Allianz Worldwide.

4. Manulife financial: with market value about fifty billion dollars; this is the topmost Asian company, pertaining to Japan.

5. Generali Group: giving a close shave to the Japanese company, this Italian firm lies just next to it.

6. Metlife: renown in many Asian countries, this company is based in US, and has been steady at its position for many years.

7. Prudential financial: next to MetLife comes this company also based in US

8.  Aviva: this is a company which has been serving the entire world, especially Eurasia, since a long time and is quite a reliable name.

9. Munich re Group: this is a Germany based company, with the market value as almost as half of the topmost German insurance firm, i.e., Allianz group.
 
10.  AEGON: this belongs to Netherlands
