Refreshing Summertime Juice Recipes

Making juice can be a healthy and delicious way to get vitamins and minerals your body needs. Where you can, leaved skins on the fruits and vegetables as that layer contains the most nutrients, remembering to always wash before juicing.

Strawberry Watermelon Crush

1 c fresh ripe strawberries
2 c seedless watermelon

Run the chunks of watermelon and the strawberries through, alternating for a good mixture. Watermelon is an excellent source of potassium, which helps muscle function and reduces cramps. Serves two, drink immediately!

Invigorating Orange-Carrot

3 carrots
3 oranges
1 inch fresh gingerroot

Juice and stir. This beverage will have a bite! Ginger is excellent for the stomach, and very warming. Serves 2, and like most juices, best used right away.

Grape-berry

1/2 lb strawberries
2 grapefruit
2 sprigs peppermint
2 tbsp honey

Juice with the honey. This drink with its complex flavors and cooling effect is terrific on a hot summer day. Will serve two, or one hungry person.

Melonade

4 c seedless watermelon
1 lemon

Juice together for a refreshing treat! Lemon is high in vitamin C and the tart flavor it imparts is so good in the heat of the summer. Serves 4, present it in wineglasses as it is so pretty.

Cucumber Blueberry

2 unpeeled cucumbers
1 c blueberries
1 apple

This one is high in antioxidants and has an intriguing flavor, not too sweet. Some juice recipes that only use sugary fruits can be too sweet, this combines a fruit normally used as a vegetable to reduce the sweetness. Serves two.

Super cocktail

1 c Strawberries
3 pomegranate
2 carrots
1/2 lb grape tomatoes

Rich in flavor and healthful antioxidants this ruby confection will serve at least two.

Any combination of fruits and vegetables that you can dream of can be juiced together, but keep a few things in mind. Eating a rainbow every day is easy with juicing. Balance sweet and tart fruits for the best flavor. Don't be afraid to add herbs for an extra layer of flavor, but do keep in mind that they are potent, a little goes a very long way. So be brave, experiment, sweeten with a little raw honey where needed, and enjoy a long sip of the results. If someone in your house hates their veggies, hide them with sweet fruit in the juicer. Try creating your own V-8, a good challenge. Above allFree Reprint Articles, juice happy!
