A closer look at the reviews from Turbo Fire with Chalene Johnson

“Turbo Fire” from Beachbody featuring Chalene Johnson is a high-intensity cardio workout set to numerous dance songs that has achieved a solid market share among women.  The workout forgoes the idea of slow and moderate and replaces it with fast and hard with short breaks and then back up again.

The exercise science principle behind this approach is known as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).  The utilization of HIIT is gaining popularity in many group workouts at your local health club. You are also seeing it pop ever more frequently in home workouts.

I think HIIT is great,The Highlights and Lowlights From “Turbo Fire” User Reviews Go Articles Articles but it has be done under proper supervision. Go too hard and you risk injury. Go to slow and you are really accomplishing nothing. As I have learned through a long odyssey of trial and error with fitness, you have to be making gains or you will quit. The work is almost never removed from working out so you better see results.

With regard to“Turbo Fire”, the huge positives are that you get to engage in beneficial HIIT training with a high-energy and very skilled trainer and if you hang in there you can’t help but shed pounds and re-sculpt yourself.  In my opinion, this program represents the magnum opus of Chalene Johnson’s workout programs. The folks on Amazon.com mostly agree as the program received an astounding 4-star average out of 5 in a sample size of nearly 150 reviews.

The downsides of“Turbo Fire”are the extreme high impact nature of individual workouts. They are relentless and it is easy to envision someone getting left behind early and never feeling like they belong.  If there is one thing that can undo a program that does achieve good results for the user, it is not giving the new user a feeling of community.  In the case of “Turbo Fire”, it can conceivably happen that way through no fault of Chalene Johnson. The program is hard and has tricky dance moves that some say are difficult to pick up and stay with.

I do believe that a person who is busy and does a fair share of working out at home, should always have a high-intensity cardio program such as this or Insanity, also by Beachbody. We need to open up the throttle every now and again. More importantly, we need to do it under controlled circumstances with very good instruction so that we are safe. In the area of results and safety, “Turbo Fire” is a very good program for almost anyone who isn’t afraid to start out struggling.
